Engraving - FAQ & Etiquette


1. Can I order engraving online?

Yes, you can choose your engraving on the item page, just under the product's description.

2.  What's the correct etiquette for engraving jewelry?

Monogram Engraving:  Enter your letters in the order you would like them to appear when engraved. In a lady's monogram, the engraving will appear with your last initial centered, in a larger size than your first and middle initials. 

The traditional format for monograms is:

    


Kelly Marie Lane . . . the monogram will read kLm as shown above. When ordering your monogram, enter K L M.

For a child or teen, it's common to engrave only the first name initial.  Choose upper or lower case single initial script, or upper or lower case Roman (see below for alphabets).

      

For men, choose either:
   
Roman:  John F. Kennedy - Last initial is in the center & is larger.  When ordering your Roman monogram, enter J K F.

Block:  John F. Kennedy  Letters are all the same size, upper case. When ordering your Block monogram, enter JFK.

Text Engraving:   Text (name, date, phrase, etc) can be engraved in either script or Roman (block) letters. 

 

We can engrave dates, numbers, symbols, and Greek letters for sororities.  Each item has different character limits that can be engraved. If we are concerned about the length of your message, our engraver will contact you.

To submit your engraving order, simply type in your text as you would like it to be engraved. We will format and center the engraving for best fit.

The Shopping Cart will detail your engraving order. Please review it carefully, as what you have submitted will be engraved just as entered. 3. What fonts can I get engraved?

We offer a range of fonts; however, each item has certain font styles that can be engraved on it. The product page will offer the fonts that work best for that particular piece.


Interlocking Monogram Font

 

Single Initial Script Font - Upper or Lower Case


Circle Monogram Font - Please check your first and middle initials carefully, as all letters do not work well in Circle monogram!!



Roman Font - Upper case or Lower case




4. How long will it take to get a piece engraved and shipped out to me?

Engraving normally takes 1-2 business days.
For example:  If you place your order on Monday for engraving . . . the item will ship out on Tuesday or Wednesday.


5. Do you guarantee the quality of your engraving?

Yes we do. Flag Lady Gifts guarantees that the engraving will be done exactly as per the instructions on your order. If we make a mistake on engraving, or if the item is received with structural damage we will  replace that item with a newly engraved one.

6. Can I return an item that has been engraved?

No. Once an item has been engraved it is not returnable. Please review your engraving choice carefully. If we make a mistake on engraving, or if the item is received with structural damage we will  replace that item with a newly engraved one.
